The Day of Mutual Loss and Gain!

Let me start with the flawless statement of Allaah:
"Verily, that which you are promised (Resurrection and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds) is surely to Happen." Q51V5.

Every small and big thing which we do will be presented before us and we will be called for absolute questioning in the Court of Allaah. Umar bn Khattab (RA) would say: "Judge yourselves before you are being Judged (by Allaah)."

Do we think of the consequences of our actions before we indulge in doing them? Know ye that, the moment we stand in the Court of Allaah there will NEVER be a second chance to abandon a sin or to do a good deed. Allaah's Absolute Justice will be at its peak as usual when He will Judge between us and NEVER shall He deal unjustly with any soul not even His greatest adversaries.

Know you not that the Prophet (P) said in an authentic Hadith recorded by Imam Bukhari : "Whoever has pride in his heart equal to the weight of a mustard seed shall not enter Paradise."

If you look down on people with the feeling of superiority complex you have mortgaged 50% of your Paradise. And if you reject the truth blatantly after it has reached you, then suffice to say that you have conveniently mortgaged the remaining 50% of your Paradise and there you go a big loser in this world and in the Hereafter.

If we wish to be in Paradise then we have to work for it and when Allaah tests us by enlarging our provisions and we despise people, then Paradise becomes far from us.

Allaah said in Qur'an 69 verse 18 : "That Day shall you be brought to Judgment, not a secret of you will be hidden." Ibn Katheer said: "You will be presented before the Knower of the secrets and private counsels. He is the One from Whom none of your affairs are hidden. He is the Knower of all things apparent, secret and hidden."

Imam Ahmad recorded it on the strength of Abu Musa (RA) that the Messenger of Allaah (P) said: "The people will be exhibited three times on the Day of Judgment. The first two presentations will be their arguing and offering excuses. During the third presentation the pages (records) will fly into their hands. Some of them will receive the records in their right hands and some will receive in their left hands."

My Allaah said: "As for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Here! Read my Record!." Qur'an 69 verse 19.  A man out of extreme joy and pleasure will say to everyone he meets that (Here! Read my Record). Ibn Katheer said he will say this because he knows that what is in it is good and purely virtuous deeds.

Happily in this world we never wait for people to ask us about our achievements and successes we rush to tell them, the same scenario repeats itself when the Ultimate result will be presented by the Most Just Allaah.

No single injustice shall be meted out against any soul. He who worships the sun, the moon, the idols, his private parts, his low desires, celebrities will regret every single second he spent disobeying Allaah.

Ya akhi wa ya ukhti! Fear Allaah as He should be feared and you will qualify yourself for this-----> "So, he shall be in a life, well pleasing, in a lofty Paradise ".

According to the great scholar of Qur'anic exegesis, Ibn Katheer, a man shall have elevated castles, beautiful wide-eyed maidens, pleasant stations and eternal joy.

In an authentic Hadith the Prophet (P) said : "Verily, Paradise has one hundred levels and between each level is a distance like the distance between the earth and the sky.

Subhanallah! Allaah in describing Paradise says: "The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at Hand.."

Don't you think that everything and anything is worth sacrificing, as far as this Jannah is concerned? Allaah in Suratul Mutaffifin says: "Verily, Al-Abrar (the Pious believers in Islamic Monotheism) will be in delight (Paradise) , On thrones, looking (at all things)"

Brothers and sisters, why the rush to chill here in haram ways when Allaah says in Suratul Mutaffifin that "You will recognize in their (the Pious Muslims) faces the brightness of Delight"

A description of opulence decorum, happiness, composure, and authority for those who will inherit the Paradise.

Here this out: "But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record." "And that I had never known how my Account is! Would that it (death) had been my end!"

The sinners and the criminals will be thrown into the blazing Fire with chains tied around them fiercely. They will cry out for food but Allaah says: "No friend has he here this day, Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds. None will eat it except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists)." Qur'an 69 verse 35-36.

I ask you these innocent questions:

What deeds are you advancing for this Day? Is it Salat over Entertainment or Entertainment over Salat?

What are you giving the angels to record? Is it marriage over fornication and adultery or wife-swapping and fornication over marriage?

Where does your pleasure lie in? Is it in listening to the Qur'an or in listening to Satan's voice (Music and sounds) ?

Do we show gratitude to Allaah for the blessing He has bestowed upon us by using the. To serve His Deen or do we abuse them by using them to spread sin, oppression and transgression on land and sea?

We lie, the angels record, we commit shirk the angels record, we commit zina the angels record, we promote nudity and immorality the angels label us evil. Our records are as good or bad as our deeds. The angels do not write what we do not, they write as we act.

My Allaah said it so flawlessly and so eloquently that: "Not a word does he (or she) utter but there is a watcher by him ready (to record It)." Suratul Qaf verse 18.

And I conclude by bringing before us a verse that calls for our deep reflection. In Suratul Taghabun verse 9 Allaah says it in His inimitable style that:

"(And remember) the Day when He will gather you (all) on the Day of Gathering, --- that will be the Day of Mutual loss and gain (ie. Loss for the disbelievers, the sinners and the criminals as they will enter the Hell-Fire and gain for the believes as they will enter Paradise) and whosoever believes in Allaah and performs righteous good deeds, He will expiate from Him is sins, and will admit him to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) to dwell therein forever; that will be the great Success."

May our Kind and Generous Allaah unite us in Jannatul Furdaus. Yours in Islam Abdullaah Musa Abdul.
