Humility Surely Leads To Paradise

In English they say: "He who is wrapped up in himself makes a pretty much small package."

And we are advised to stop patting ourselves on the shoulder because we might just dislocate it.

The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) encouraged one and all to be humble at all times for it is piety coupled with humility that draws us closer to Allaah.

Someone said it so beautifully that:

"I consider every human better than me, because regarding his sins I only have speculations but regarding my sins, I have certainty that I sin."

Abu Hameed Al-Ghazali said: "The perception that you are better than anyone is blatant arrogance."

My advice: Whenever people praise you, take a second to remind yourself of those sins you commit which Allaah has veiled them from. This will only introduce Humilty to you.

May Allaah bless us with this great virtue of humility.
